Happy World Carfree Day! I haven't been in a car today, no change there then. I consider myself very lucky to live in an urban area innit, where the public transport infrastructure is good and I can walk to all the important places in my life (the library, the Sanctuary cafe, the beach, the pub). If I wanted to live in the country I might find it rather more difficult, since the government don't seem to want to do much to address the low availability and high cost of public transport in rural areas.
Book 57: Love Me by Garrison Keillor A novel about dreams, failure, persistence and love which seems sweet and gentle but manages to be surreal, bitchy and dark as well.
