New library. New! Library! NEW LIBRARY. NEW! LIBRARY! NEW!! LIBRARY!! It is fair to say that I am excited about this (it officially opens to the public on Thursday but I am going to the private shindig tonight). A mere ten years since plans for a new Brighton library were first proposed... (in actual fact they've been talking about a 'new' library for more like *eighty* years but who am I to complain? Well, a taxpayer for a start but I'm not bitter JUST EXCITED woo!)
Even my utter hatred of my current courses was eased somewhat last week when I invented a thrilling new game: reference librarian's Trivial Pursuit. Same questions as usual but you're not allowed to answer them using your own knowledge, only by looking in the appropriate reference source. Bonus cheese segments for hitting the correct source first time. I am a gateway; enter me! That didn't come out right at ALL but you know what I mean.
In non-library news, I went shopping in London for a wedding outfit yesterday. It was a successful mission despite cancelled trains (1mm of snow oh no!), freezing weather, boiling hot changing rooms and useless shop assistants. I can say no more about what was bought, however, since Matt is Not Allowed to know of it.
