OK, so it's freezing cold and raining. My weather pixie's choice of appropriate attire? A sort of black leather/mesh catsuit thing. Sorry lady, but this isn't that sort of a blog. I'll delete your code if you're not careful.

Meanwhile, I have caused mild controversy over on the excellent
Yummy Wakame. So, although I won't apologise for my last post (if I apologised for every occasion on this blog when I was flippant I would have no time to say anything else), I will clarify that it WAS a joke and it WASN'T intended as a serious generalisation about Americans. At all.

Apparently it's not masochistic enough for Americans just to elect Bush for another four years; they have to invent
A PILL TO REPLACE TEA as well. I'm sorry, but tea is like sex. You cannot synthesise it. This is a slippery slope leading to the death of civilisation.

Have decided that the reason life has been so crappy lately is because I haven't worn my new t-shirt nearly enough. Everything up to and including the US election result and me getting mugged last weekend can be blamed on my dull dull wardrobe. Must try harder.

On the plus side, I no longer have much filing. Just department awaydays and other horrors until I can break the tedium by putting up the sad office Christmas decorations. Oh, and lots of reading on faceted classification schemes. Curse Ranganathan and his big brain.
