I Love Everything and #sinister both seem to be inaccessible at the moment and I feel bereft, which has made me realise two things: 1) I rely far too much on the internet for social interaction and 2) I really have very little real work to do at the moment.

However, I have put two new poems up, so it's not been an entirely wasted day.

I have taken going for walks in my lunch break instead of squeezing into the smoky canteen/bar to catch up on departmental gossip. And how much purer and more well-disposed towards troublesome students and photocopiers I feel for it! I just can't believe I've been wasting the beautiful parkland surrounding the campus for a whole year. The highlight of today's constitutional was the sound of another lunchtime walker singing along at the top (and I mean the TOP) of his voice to 'Killer Queen' on his walkman. He didn't seem at all bothered about sharing his voice and his taste in music with all the joggers, dog walkers etc. Might take my minidisc player myself tomorrow...

Back in the virtual world it's all kicking off on ILE, in a way that makes me a bit scared of the internet again. If anyone disreputable ever wants to find out about me for some reason, this blog tells them pretty much everything (including where I live if they were to look carefully). Oh well, that's the modern age for you I suppose. I'm not going to stop communicating just on the off chance...
