"I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library."

Excitingly, I will be making money from poetry for the first time ever next week, headlining a reading of poets from my old college. Watch this space for a report... Meanwhile the evening course is under way and not completely awful. I am looking forward to getting into scraps with people before too many more sessions are up - who says I should be tolerant of their narrowmindedness just because they're eighty years old?

Music: I wonder why it is that while all my peers are begging, borrowing, stealing, sharing and raving about MP3s, I seem to be stuck ever more firmly in my random vinyl groove (hoho)? My latest acquisition is the Shadows doing a tremolo-tastic version of Heart of Glass. I cannot begin to describe how great it is. Oh, and the Tom Tom Club cover of Under The Boardwalk is also rather wonderful. Basically, anyone who visits me in the near future had better be prepared to sit down, shut up and listen. I am Archel, hear me mix! (Well I have not quite mastered the decks actually, but my geek nature is responding very well to Matt's tuition on the PC mixing thingy...)
